PGR Student,
Sara is an ESRC PhD student at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, School of Law. She also holds a master's degree in Law from the University of Bologna (Distinction), an LLM in Criminal Justice from the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ (Distinction), and an MA in Socio-Legal Research (Distinction).
Sara collaborates with the International Criminal Justice Unit of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Human Rights Law Centre. In 2020/2021, she was a Student Assistant and then an Intern working on the National Implementing Legislation Database () and Cooperation and Judicial Assistance Database (). Since 2021, she has been working as a Research Assistant for a series of projects focused on prospects for justice for sexual and gender-based survivors in Northern Uganda. She is also supervising current Student Assistants working on the NILD/CJAD databases. Additionally, Sara worked as a Research Associate for different research projects at the Rights Lab Beacon of Excellence of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½.

Sara's PhD research focuses on the intersection between conflict-related sexual violence and terrorism, with an emphasis on the challenges and perspectives of accountability at both the national and supranational levels. Sara's research is supervised by Professor Olympia Bekou and Dr Natalie Hodgson and is funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council ().
