Arfa Karim
Arfa Karim studied Economics at Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology before enrolling on the MSc EIM at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, eager to develop her research skills.
“My MSc brought about a new chapter in my academic and personal life,” she said.
“The course was a perfect extension to my Bachelor's in Economics. I especially enjoyed my dissertation as I developed a good relationship and work ethic with my supervisor.
I was given full freedom and guidance in working on the topic of my interest: Covid-19 and underdeveloped countries.”
After graduating in 2021, Arfa has secured a role at the Akhter Hameed Khan Resource Centre, an esteemed non-profit organisation in Pakistan.
As a research analyst, she works with the Resource Centre to achieve its goals on urban poverty reduction through economic and social empowerment and is personally involved in the analysis framework of a £90m project on family planning.
My favourite modules on the MSc were especially research-intensive, which also helped me narrow down my job search towards economic research based roles. My new role as a research analyst position at serves exactly that purpose.
