Congratulations to our colleague Jack Newsinger whose application for funding for an AHRC Standard Grant has been successful.
This is a three-year project (total value £950k) led by at Lancaster to investigate duties of care in the UK’s reality television production sector, continuing the work of a 2019 Parliamentary Enquiry. It is partnered with all the major broadcasters and trade Unions in the sector, and with the media regulator Ofcom. As Co-I, Newsinger's role is to investigate working practices in reality television in association with the trade union Bectu.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ part of the project is based at the Institute for Screen Industries Research (ISIR) and builds on the 2019 project ‘Locked Down and Locked Out: The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mothers working in the UK television industry’.
