Encounters: Writers and Translators in Conversation are events that give us unique insights into the work that usually goes on behind closed doors: translating.
As part of this series jointly organised by the Institute of Modern Languages Research (London, Godela Weiss-Sussex) and The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies section) we are delighted to welcome Helia Correia, one of the Portuguese-speaking world's most acclaimed living writers, back to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. Helia will appear alongside Annie McDermott, who is currently translating Helia's short fiction, to discuss her work, which will be introduced through readings (in Portuguese and English) by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ students.
