Assistant Professor, Film and Media Studies, Faculty of Arts
I began my career at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ as Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (French) before moving to Cultural, Media and Visual Studies in 2024. My own academic formation followed a similar trajectory; I read Modern and Medieval Languages as an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge before taking an MPhil in European Literature and Culture, and it was in this context I developed my interests in film and theory. I undertook my PhD with Dr Laura McMahon at Cambridge, and continued to a Junior Research Fellowship there at Corpus Christi College.
Between undergraduate and postgraduate study, I worked for several years as a feature writer at the Independent and Independent on Sunday newspapers.
