A new e-learning package, ‘Sepsis and Sepsis Six’ has been developed jointly by James Henderson (HELM, School of Health Sciences), Gill Langmack (School of Health Sciences) and Anna Davis (NUH) as a collaboration between The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’s School of Health Sciences and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The e-learning package explores the issues involved for the patient who is admitted with sepsis so learners can:
- define sepsis;
- understand the physiological effects of sepsis;
- recognise a septic patient;
- describe the treatment of a septic patient.
The team presented the resource at the ‘Lets Beat Sepsis’ conference at the University of Hertfordshire on 5 July and have also co-authored an article “” for the British Journal of Nursing (BJN).
