On 11 and 12 May 2021, the Human Rights Law Centre and the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ International Law and Security Centre hosted a two-day closed multidisciplinary workshop on Apartheid and International Law: The Past, The Here and Now.
The online workshop was convened by Senior Research Fellow Victor Kattan as part of his ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Research Fellowship based at the School of Law at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½.

The speakers were welcomed by Professor Aoife Nolan (Co-Director of the Human Rights Law Centre) and Professor Dino Kritsiotis (Co-Director of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ International Law and Security Centre).
The event benefited enormously from the inputs of a wide range of invited expert participants, including historians, political scientists, lawyers, policy makers, diplomats, anthropologists, and human rights activists. These individuals have either experienced apartheid first-hand, or have studied and documented it, whether in South Africa or elsewhere.
