Biography

Dr. Pargat Singh studied Medicine at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, graduating with BMedSci (Hons) and BM BS in 1999. In addition to this he holds a BSc Honours degree in Biomedical Sciences. His research interests led to the completion of an MPhil (Thesis: Prediction of pregnancy-induced hypertension, Keele 1996). Subsequently Dr. Singh went on to qualify as a General Practitioner, gaining extensive clinical experience in primary care working as a senior partner in West Bridgford, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. He served for several years as a GP Appraiser, supporting colleagues through the NHS revalidation process and promoting professional development and quality improvement within primary care.

Following his clinical career, Dr. Singh worked as a Facilitator on the graduate-entry medical programme, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Medical School at Derby. As an Assistant Professor Dr. Singh is dedicated to delivering high-quality Biomedical Sciences education with interests in cardiovascular sciences, clinical reasoning, and the preparation of future healthcare professionals.

Research interests

Dr Singh's research focussed on maternal health and the management of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy. He initially worked under the supervision of Professor Fiona Broughton-Pipkin (ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½) and then continued his research at Keele under the supervision of Professor P.M. Shaughn O'Brien working in the academic department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Teaching interests

Alongside his clinical practice, he developed a strong interest in medical education, working as a GP Tutor with the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ School of Medicine for both undergraduate medical students and postgraduate specialist trainee Doctors.
