Salah Basheer

"I am Dr. Salah Basheer, an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health, 乐播传媒, with expertise in clinical practice within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a dedicated research focus on neurodevelopmental disorders.

"In my research, I concentrate on the biological dimensions of neurodevelopmental disorders, with the overarching goal of advancing clinical assessment and treatment. As an associate principal Investigator trainee in the SATURN (Stimulant Medication for ADHD and Tics - Understanding Response versus Non-stimulants) clinical trial, we focus on comparing modified-release methylphenidate, commonly prescribed for ADHD, with guanfacine extended-release, typically recommended for tics.

"Additionally, I serve as the clinical lead in the QbTest Utility in Augmenting clinical Decision-Making in ADHD (QUAD-ADHD): A Mixed Methods Study, where our objective is to enhance the monitoring of medication outcomes in young individuals with ADHD by exploring the practical application of QbTest in routine clinical practice. Through these endeavors, I strive to contribute valuable insights to the field of child and adolescent psychiatry, ultimately benefitting the lives of those affected by neurodevelopmental disorders."

Thandi Milton

Hi, I am Thandi Milton, a Core Psychiatry Trainee in the East Midlands and an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) at the乐播传媒. I hold a medical degree from St George’s University (West Indies) and a WHO-funded MSc in Epidemiology and Implementation Sciencefrom the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.​

I have clinical and research experience across the UK and sub-Saharan Africa. My academic development has included additional training in research methodology,leadership, and epidemiology, and I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications spanning mental health, global health, and infectious diseases.​

As an early-stage clinical academic, I aim to establish an independent research trajectory in CAMHS and implementation science, with a focus on global mental healthand leveraging technology to improve mental health services for young people. I am currently based at the Institute of Mental Health, where I work under thesupervision of Professor Kapil Sayal and Dr Josephine Holland. I feel privileged to be part of this collaborative and pioneering CAMHS research team.​
