ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ element: This is England

This is England is the cult 2006 feature film, written and directed by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½’s Shane Meadows.

Set in 1983, and with much of the film shot in residential areas of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, the story centres on young skinheads in 1983 and illustrates how their subculture became adopted by the far-right, which led to divisions within the skinhead scene.

This is England won the Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film at the 2008 BAFTAs.

The film produced three spin-off TV mini-series – This Is England ’86, This is England ’88, and This Is England ’90 – written by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne.

Scientific element: Tennessine

A member of the halogen group, tennessine is a radioactive, artificially produced element about which little is known.

The element was relatively newly discovered in 2010. Scientists made it in a laboratory by taking calcium ions and shooting them at the element, berkelium.

Since only a few atoms of tennessine have ever been made, it has no practical uses outside of scientific study.
