On May 20th, the Centre for Research in Race and Rights (C3R) and the American and Canadian Studies department held an event in collaboration with the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Contemporary that drew 85 people and was live-streamed on Australian radio. The discussion focused on the subject of critical whiteness - from its emergence as an area of enquiry through to its significance within contemporary struggles around race and class. A . The following day, Marquese McFerguson held a workshop with our local partners The Mouthy Poets at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Contemporary. Both events were held as part of the British Academy Rising Star Engagement project on Race and Rights, which runs from 2015-16.
