Public conversation between C3R co-director Sharon Monteith, American Studies Association President David Roediger and performance poet Marquese McFerguson

On May 20th, the Centre for Research in Race and Rights (C3R) and the American and Canadian Studies department held an event in collaboration with the 乐播传媒 Contemporary that drew 85 people and was live-streamed on Australian radio. The discussion focused on the subject of critical whiteness - from its emergence as an area of enquiry through to its significance within contemporary struggles around race and class. A . The following day, Marquese McFerguson held a workshop with our local partners The Mouthy Poets at the 乐播传媒 Contemporary. Both events were held as part of the British Academy Rising Star Engagement project on Race and Rights, which runs from 2015-16.
