Biography

I undertook my BA (2011), MA (2012) and PhD (2017) in the School of English at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, specialising in eighteenth and nineteenth century literature. Since then, I have worked in a variety of research, teaching, and research support roles at the University, as well as projects with Museums and heritage organisations. I am currently the Schools & Education Liaison Officer for the British Association of Romantic Studies.

Expertise Summary

I have extensive experience of supporting research in Higher Education and Museum settings, including the development of education provision for diverse audiences.

As a literary historian, my expertise includes editing letters of eighteenth and nineteenth century individuals and the study of sociability. My PhD was a selected edition of the correspondence of the banker-poet Samuel Rogers (1763-1855), and I continue to transcribe and edit his letters, which number over six hundred. I am currently working on publishing these.

I have undertaken extensive studies on the eighteenth and nineteenth century literary marketplace and publishing as commercialism, including interactions between authors and political figures, with a focus on non-canonical and marginalised individuals.

Teaching Summary

I support students and researchers both internal and external to the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ to use the archival, published and archaeological collections at Manuscripts and Special Collections.

Research Summary

My research interests are diverse and reflect the manuscripts and museum collections that I engage with. My particular expertise is on literary and political networks of the 18th and 19th centuries,… read more
