ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ BBSRC Wheat Research Centre opens

Description
The new ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½/BBSRC Wheat Research Centre has been officially opened by 'super woman of wheat' and influential advocate for wheat research and science Jeanie Borlaug Laube. Jeanie is the daughter of Norman E Borlaug who received a Nobel Prize for his lifetime of work to feed a hungry world. She toured the glasshouses at The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s Sutton Bonington Campus where the search is on for new varieties of high yeilding wheat that can cope with climate change and feed a growing global population.

Join us in September for the Faculty of Science Summer Lecture 2026 to celebrate 20 years and find out what children's participation has taught researchers in the School of Psychology about how young minds grow and learn. Our speakers will be Professor Lucy Cragg, Dr Luke Holden and Professor Danielle Ropar from the School of Psychology. Following the lecture there will be refreshments and hands-on activities.
