Getting around

Whether you're going to your lectures or meeting friends in town, getting around is pretty easy. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ City Transport (NCT) is a regular winner of the award for UK Bus Operator of the Year, and the city also has a frequent Tram service.

NCT buses, the Tram and Trent Barton buses all offer student passes that give you unlimited travel for either the academic or calendar year, or for less regular users you can just pay as you go.

To help you travel between campuses, the University offers a hopper bus service:

  • 901 runs between University Park, Sutton Bonington and Kegworth
  • 903 runs between University Park and Jubilee Campus
  • 906 evening service connecting University Park and Jubilee Campus with Lenton and Beeston

As well as our own hopper buses, our campuses are well served by public buses and the tram.

 

University Park Campus

To help you get about, the University offers several inter-campus transport facilities, including the free University Hopper bus service.

  • Orange Line 34/34C – stops on campus outside George Green Library and on East Drive and links campus to the City Centre. In evenings and weekends, the 34C runs along Beeston Lane, serving University Park halls.
  • Orange Line 35 – stops on Derby Road outside North Entrance and runs to the City Centre and to Wollaton and Bulwell
  • Orange Line 36 - stops on Derby Road outside North Entrance and runs to the City Centre and to Beeston and Chilwell
  • Orange Line 36U – stops outside George Green Library and runs from the City Centre to Beeston and Chilwell

  • Skylink ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ – stops on University Boulevard next to the south entrance, runs between ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ City Centre and East Midlands Airport via Beeston and Long Eaton
  • Indigo – stops on University Boulevard next to the south entrance, runs between ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ City Centre and Long Eaton via Chilwell and Beeston, with some services continuing to Derby City Centre
  • i4 - stops on Derby Road outside the North Entrance and runs between ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ City Centre and Derby City Centre via Stapleford 
 

University Park is on the Toton tram line which runs from Toton to Hucknall via Beeston, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Rail Station and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ City Centre.

The closest stops to University Park are:

  • ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ stop, just outside the South Entrance
  • University Boulevard, close to the West Entrance
  • Queen's Medical Centre, next to the Medical School

 

Not living on campus?

  • Orange Line 34, 35 and 36 will take you from Lenton, Beeston and Chilwell.
  • Pink Line 28, 30 and 31 will take you to and from Lenton, Radford and Wollaton
  • Navy Line 1, 3, 4, Grey Line 53, 54 and the Tram run to and from Clifton
  • Turquoise Line 77, 78, 79 and the Tram travel to and from Arboretum
  • Green Line 5, 6, 7, 11 will take you to and from West Bridgford and Lady Bay
Undergraduate students in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ City Centre
 

Jubilee Campus

  • Orange Line 34/34C, 35 and 36 – stop on Derby Road, at the southern end of Jubilee Campus, close to the Advanced Manufacturing Building. Use these buses to travel to the City Centre, Wollaton (35) and Beeston and Chilwell (36).
  • Pink Line 28 and 30 – stop on Wollaton Road at the northern end of Jubilee Campus, close to Melton Hall. Use these buses to travel to the City Centre and Wollaton (30)

  • Indigo and i4 – stops on Derby Road at the southern end of Jubilee Campus, near the Advanced Manufacturing Building. Use these buses to travel to the City Centre, Long Eaton (Indigo) and Stapleford and Derby (i4).
  • Two - stops on Wollaton Road at the northern end of Jubilee Campus, close to Melton Hall. You can use the two to travel to the City Centre and Wollaton.
 

 

Sutton Bonington Campus

 

Bus

  • 66 service connects Sutton Bonington campus with Loughborough.
  • is a flexible on-demand bus service which you must pre-book. You can use it to travel from Sutton Bonington to other local villages (e.g. Kegworth and East Leake) and to travel to East Midlands Parkway Station and East Midlands Airport.

  • Use the 901 hopper bus to connect with the tram at Clifton Park and Ride. From here, you can catch a tram to the City Centre
 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

Visitor Parking

If you have friends or family visiting you on campus, they can park in one of the visitor car parks. Further information, including locations of disabled parking, can be found on the Car Parking webpages.

Parking charges apply at all times (24/7), including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

E-Scooters

Don't fancy public transport? No problem, you can jump on one of the city's e-scooters or e-bikes.
