Accepting an offer of a place at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ forms a legally binding contract between the university and you. View a copy of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ student contract.

You have a statutory right to cancel the contract without giving any reason (which will have the effect of you withdrawing your acceptance of our offer) from the date you receive a copy of this contract, as outlined in the contract.

Our offer and contract is based on the information which you have provided us, including your qualifications. If you have supplied information that is not accurate and complete, then our offer of study and the student contract will be deemed null and void.

The university may also need to carry out a full assessment of your support needs in order to ensure that it can fully meet its legal obligations to you. Very occasionally, the university may determine that it is not able to provide the support required, in which case our offer will be withdrawn.

As part of your application, you will have been asked for information regarding your fee status (for example, home or international). Your offer is made on the basis of this fee status, as stated in the offer email that you have received from us.

Once your Clearing application has been received it may be necessary for us to undertake a fee status assessment, based on the information that has been submitted on your UCAS application. We may need to contact you by email to clarify your fee status.

Your confirmed fee status will be included in the formal offer letter that you receive along with the student contract.

Your fee status will be assessed using the UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs) guidelines. 

We receive a number of results directly from the examining boards via UCAS. If you have completed qualifications that appear on the UCAS list, including those listed below, you will not usually need to send confirmation of results in order for us to confirm your place.

• A levels and AS levels
• BTEC
• International Baccalaureate
• Scottish Advanced Highers and Highers
• Welsh Baccalaureate

For any qualifications that do not appear on the UCAS list, you must send proof of results to our admissions team in order for your place to be confirmed. Please follow the guidance below.

If your results are not sent to us by UCAS, you will need to send scanned copies of your results in order for your Clearing application to be processed. You should reply to the offer confirmation email you have received from us and attach scanned copies.

Please add 'Clearing scanned results' in the subject line of your email. If you do not include this subject line, it may result in delays with the processing of your application.

If you are an international applicant and have already provided scanned copies of your results to our Admissions team when applying for Clearing, you do not need to provide these scans again in order for us to confirm your place.

We do not require original certificates in order to make you an offer of a place via Clearing. We may, however, request to see original documents at any point during your studies with us, and so you should bring original certificates with you and be prepared to show these on request. 

All new students must have an appropriate grade or score in an approved English language examination before they can register on an academic programme. This is normally grade 4 (C) in GCSE English Language or equivalent, but for some courses this can be higher.

IELTS requirements for each course are listed on our Clearing course vacancies. Equivalencies for other English qualifications we accept are listed on our English language requirements p²¹²µ±ð.

We may need to contact you by email on receipt of your Clearing application to verify your English language scores.  

If you require a Student Visa to study in the UK, you must provide details of any previous study you have undertaken in the UK. Academic progression is a requirement under Student Visa regulations and failure to disclose such information will result in your offer being withdrawn.

In order to obtain a Student Visa you will need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the university, which we can issue once your unconditional offer and acceptance has been processed and updated on UCAS Hub.

Some MEng and MSci courses also require an certificate as part of the visa application process. We will contact you directly if this applies to you. 

You must check the CAS information carefully via your ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½Hub portal. It is your responsibility to advise us of any required changes or additions, so that we can issue your CAS. Your CAS number will not be issued until you have confirmed that the CAS details we have sent you are correct. If you have any problems, please contact the admissions team at: mycas@nottingham.ac.uk
