Cell Sorting
The Facility's high specification sterile cell sorter is located in our main facility and is open to all ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ research groups and by agreement with external parties. All sorting is conducted by facility staff, so no training is required.
If you would like to access the cell sorter for the first time contact David Onion or Nicola Croxall, experienced users can book directly using the .
SONY FP7000 Spectral Cell Sorter
This top of the range sterile spectral cell sorter allows high purity isolation of cells from mixed populations. With 5 lasers, 147 PMTs and enhanced violet side scatter for small particle work, the FP7000 has great flexibility.
Cell Sorting
- High speed sorting – up to 70,000 cells per second
- 6 way sorting, allowing 6 independent populations to be sorted simultaneously
- Direct sorting into microplates (up to 384 well plates) or onto slides
- Single cell cloning
- Housed in class II safety cabinet for improved sterility and biosafety
- Temperature controlled sample and collection
Full Spectrum Technology
- UV (355nm), Violet (405nm), Blue (488nm), Yellow/Green (561nm) and Red (640nm) lasers.
- Full Spectrum detection (147 Channels) for 50+ parameter work, autofluorescent extraction and resolution of ghigkly overlappign fluorphores
- Violet side scatter for small particle work
