The School of Life Sciences, together with the School of Medicine in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, have developed a joint medical degree with in Thailand
Prospective medical students are selected jointly by Admissions Tutors from SWU and ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ in January and successful students begin their studies in Thailand in April and in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ in September. Students then complete 3 years of the BMedSci degree in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and return to Thailand for the clinical component of the medical course, to qualify and practise as doctors in Thailand.
We will develop further our academic collaborations with SWU, especially research into biomedical sciences.
The school of Life Sciences works closely with colleagues at our sister school, the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University’s Malaysia campus and contributes to the development of the course.
Students studying BSc Biomedical Sciences at UNMC may spend their final year studying and graduating in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. Some students choose to spend the last semester of their final year in ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ so that they can complete their final year project in our research labs, working under the supervision of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ academics.
