The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has been collecting manuscripts, archives, rare books and printed materials for almost a century. Today we hold over 3.5 million items from the past 800 years, including historic treasures designated as being of national and international importance.

Acquisitions Fund
Your gift could help us ensure our cultural heritage remains available to everyone by supporting the acquisition of archival materials and rare printed items to preserve and share here at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. Otherwise, we risk these items being lost to a private owner or sold overseas.
Conservation Fund
Conserving and digitising our historic material is vital if we are to ensure that future generations can enjoy and learn from the treasures of the past that we hold. Your support could help us obtain:-
- An acid-free box to protect archived documents
- A bespoke phase-box to be made for one of the books in our special collections
- Services to convert film or audio material held in an obsolete analogue format into a modern digital file that can be accessed by people across the world for decades to come
General Support
Responding to emerging priorities, urgent opportunities or unforeseen events often requires a small flexible fund that can be put to use when it’s most needed.
Your support would be invaluable by giving us the ability to invest resource where our needs are most pressing. This might be contributing towards the operation of our Exhibition Gallery or Reading Room or helping meet the costs of our outreach and events programme.
