ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½

Held between the 1st and 4th of May at the National Water Sports Centre, the 2026 BUCS Regatta once again brought together the UK’s leading university rowing programmes for one of the biggest events in the student sporting calendar. With crews across sweep rowing and sculling disciplines, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ competed in 27 major finals, consistently showing top performances across a difficult four days of racing.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ saw 44 crews enter the competition across beginner, intermediate and championships categories in a multitude of disciplines, showcasing the range of talent across the team. Across 12 performances in A finals, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ secured five medals, including 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.

In the beginner categories, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ claimed two gold medals in women's and open categories. The Beginner Coxed Four event saw a strong performance from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, earning them the top step of the podium as well as in the Open Beginner Eight category where they also claimed first place.

The Women's squad continued the success in the Women's Beginner Eight event, adding a silver medal to the tally and highlighting the strength of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s developing crews. The success in the beginner categories highlights the potential and dedication from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s athletes, putting in strong competitions in multiple finals across the event.

In the more experienced categories, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s crew in the Women's Intermediate Coxless pair earned themselves a bronze medal to add to the overall haul. Finally, at the highest level of university rowing, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ put in an incredible display of talent against countries top university athletes and earned a bronze medal in the Open Championship Lightweight Coxless Four event.

The spread of success across a range of events showed the hard work and dedication the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ athletes have put in across the year. With crews in 27 major finals, the club is incredible proud of all their athletes and want to thank the coaches, committee and volunteers involved in ensuring a smooth weekend of racing.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ congratulates everybody involved in another successful BUCS competition and an outstanding weekend of racing on home water. With the Regatta finishing off an incredible year, the University look forwards to seeing the athletes compete at Henly in the summer.
