HSK Level 3 - Part A

This module is designed for students who have completed HSK 1 and 2 courses or students with equivalent language skills. Excellent command of Pinyin and a speaking and listening vocabulary of 300 words are prerequisites to starting the course.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • develop a speaking and listening vocabulary of approximately 400 words (vocabulary)
  • understand and grasp basic grammar points such as a number of simple forms of complements, the expression of existence with "着" and indicating a change of state with “了” etc. (grammar)
  • understand two-turn dialogues of approximately 60 Chinese characters (listening)
  • be able to conduct speaking activities in specific contexts using newly learnt vocabulary and grammar (speaking)
  • Understand short paragraphs consisting of two or three sentences of approximately 60 Chinese characters (reading)
  • Write newly learnt Chinese characters as well as sentences using grammar and language points covered in the relevant course content (writing)
