HSK Level 3 - Part B

This module is designed for students who have completed HSK 1, 2 and 3 part A courses or students with equivalent language skills. Excellent command of Pinyin and a speaking and listening vocabulary of 400 words are prerequisites starting the course.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • develop a speaking and listening vocabulary of approximately 500 words (vocabulary)
  • understand and grasp grammar points such as comparative sentences,  ba/"把" - sentences, compound complements of direction etc. (grammar)
  • understand two-turn dialogues of approximately 70 Chinese characters (listening)
  • be able to conduct group speaking activities in specific contexts using newly learnt vocabulary, language and grammar points (speaking)
  • understand short paragraphs consisting of three sentences of approximately 90 Chinese characters (reading)
  • write newly learnt Chinese characters as well as sentences using grammar and language points covered in the relevant course content (writing)
  • gain an understanding of Chinese characters,basic Chinese etiquette, common sayings and customs related to the course content (culture)
