I’m an MRI physicist and researcher specialising in the development, optimisation, and clinical translation of advanced MRI protocols for whole-body and multi-organ imaging, including abdominal, cardiac, and musculoskeletal applications. My work focuses on quantitative, multi-parametric, and multi-nuclear MRI to assess tissue structure, function, and metabolism across the lifespan, including measurements of fat content, iron content, inflammation and fibrosis.
Based at the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre, I design, harmonise, and validate MRI protocols across Philips, Siemens, and GE platforms. This work bridges research and clinical imaging, ensuring advanced MRI methods are robust, reproducible, and suitable for real-world deployment in both healthcare.
While much of my research has focused on liver and metabolic disease, my expertise extends to MR elastography, spectroscopy, and whole-body MRI, enabling comprehensive, non-invasive assessment of organ health. I am particularly interested in the role of quantitative MRI in health screening and precision imaging for clinical interventions.
In addition to my research role, I am an MRI Scanner Operator with responsibility for participant and researcher safety across both Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre sites. I support imaging on Philips 3T, and 7T systems, a GE 3T system, and am working towards competency on Siemens Sola 1.5T scanners. I also train post-doctoral researchers and PhD students in MRI operation and protocol optimisation, ensuring high-quality, reproducible data acquisition while prioritising participant comfort and safety.
