In the Faculty of Arts, we want to support all students and make it a community where everyone belongs. Below are some of the ways we, and the University, can support you throughout your studies.
Disabled Students
The university has dedicated support for students with disabilities. This includes those with:
- long term medical conditions
- autistic spectrum conditions
- specific learning differences (for example dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, or ADHD)
- mental health difficulties
Whether you received dedicated support before or not, Disability Support Services have a range of information and guidance to help.
You also have a dedicated Disability Liaison Officer (DLO) in your home school for any course-related questions.

Mature Students
The Faculty of Arts sends dedicated emails to support mature students throughout the academic year. You will receive the emails if you are either:
- an undergraduate student over 21 when you enrol
- a postgraduate student over 25 when you enrol
If you have any questions about this, you can send an email to the Faculty of Arts Mature Students inbox.
We can also support you in finding and taking part in social events for mature students. To find out more about these, or to suggest other ways we could support mature students, please contact us using the above email.
When you apply for the Peer Mentoring programme in your school, you can opt to be paired with a mature student peer mentor, if available. We'll try to match you wherever possible.
