Students’ Union
The Students’ Union (SU) functions as an autonomous organisation run by students, for students. It is your advocate at university, safeguarding your rights, and ensuring that your opinions are heard when it comes to significant decisions that impact you. Being a student at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ automatically makes you a respected and honoured member of the SU.
The Student Union's headquarters are situated in Portland Building on University Park Campus, but there are regular events and activities run by the SU across all campuses.
The primary SU reception area is located in the Welcome Zone of the Portland Building, open between 8.3-am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Feel free to drop by to say hello, and learn more about the various ways in which your SU can support you.
Engage in societies - participate and enjoy yourself.
Whatever you’re into, the Students’ Union has something for you. Your SU is home to over 450 student groups and over 70 sports clubs, as well as student media groups, student-run services and student networks. There’s guaranteed to be something for everyone.
This is where you’ll find all our activities, explore our societies and sports clubs, and become a member of one of our groups.

Become an SU course representative
If you want to make a positive difference on your course and represent your peers, then this could be a great role for you.
Course reps are a vital part of our student voice. Through gathering feedback from your peers, sitting in key meetings and lobbying or campaigning for positive change, you can make a real difference to the academic experience of those on your course.
Course reps are given full training from the SU and offered ongoing support from their school, other reps, and the SU all throughout the year. This includes accreditation opportunities and further skills development.
