If you are studying in two departments for your degree, you are a joint honours student. Here are some extra things you need to know.
Induction timetables will be available at the end of August
Make sure you check the timetables for both your departments and attend as many events as possible, particularly the main induction talks. In case of scheduling conflicts, give priority to the lead department's schedule.
How is my degree organised?
You study an equal number of credits in each department. However, for administrative purposes, one department is designated as the ‘lead’. Your personal tutor will be based in the lead department. In your other department, you will be assigned a joint honours liaison tutor, who will act of point of contact for any issues relating to that part of your degree.
The School of English is the ‘lead’ for the joint honours degrees English and History BA (Jt Hons) and English and Classical Civilisation BA (Jt Hons). For all other English joint honours programmes, the other department is the ‘lead.
