ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½

Ready to kickstart your journey at university with confidence and a friendly face? Here's your chance to connect with a current English student who's been exactly where you are - and is eager to help you thrive!

Peer mentoring

What's peer mentoring all about?

Our peer mentoring scheme pairs new undergraduate English students with fully-trained, experienced mentors who know the ins and outs of your course - and the campus! These mentors are second and third year students, passionate about supporting you every step of the way.

How does it work?

You'll be matched with a mentor who shares your interests and course path, creating the perfect support system to help you settle in. From answering your burning questions to sharing insider tips, your mentor will be your go-to guide throughout the year. Think of them as your personal university navigator!

When and how to join?

Want to hit the ground running? Apply to be matched before term starts. We'll notify you by email, so don't forget to check your inbox (and junk folder!) for your mentor match.

Missed the deadline? No worries! You can still sign up during Welcome Week and get connected once you arrive.

Got questions? Just drop us a line at AE-EnglishESE@exmail.nottingham.ac.uk - we're here to help!

There are some issues that fall in between what your friends can help you with and what you want to ask a lecturer you have never met before, and the mentoring scheme fills those gaps wonderfully. Thanks to my mentor, on my third day at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, I already knew everything there was to know about the library, the online portal and how to make the most of my seminars. My mentor is a wonderful person; they have made the difference between my first weeks at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ being unproductive and achieving a good balance of social and academic life.
