Studying is a big part of your student experience, and we understand that it can be quite a change from being at school or college.

From Wi-Fi access to storage solutions to virtual computing and printing on campus, Digital and Technology Services are here to help you with all of your digital needs. Our Smart Bars will be able to help you with any troubleshooting questions you may have. 

We also provide lots of online and digital tools to assist you with your learning, including Microsoft 365 and Teams.

Library Services

Libraries are here to support you throughout your studies, offering:

  • A wide range of bookable and drop-in study spaces
  • Extended opening hours in selected libraries during key times of the year
  • Extensive print and online library collections including journals, databases, newspapers, TV and film
  • Help and support from our friendly library staff in-person and online

Our Learning Development team offer a free programme of study and information skills support including webinars, on-demand resources and 1-1 appointments.

The Digital Student

Language and learning

Did you know you can learn a language alongside your degree, even if you aren’t a languages student? And usually, you can even earn credits towards your degree by doing so.

We offer a variety of language and cultural modules, and welcome all language enthusiasts from complete beginners right through to those with plenty of experience.

Develop work-related skills through The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Advantage Award (NAA) by completing extracurricular modules. You will reflect on your experiences and skills and understand how to demonstrate these to employers in the recruitment process, when applying for jobs.

Graduate jobs

Our Careers and Employability Service offers you 1:1 advice, events (including Careers Fairs) and an online job shop to help you find a graduate-level role. The Careers team works with thousands of employers to source opportunities for students and graduates and you can sign up for their Jobs by Email newsletter for vacancies direct to your inbox. 

Our events programme is busy, with lots of presentations and fairs taking place during the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms.Employers love coming to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ to meet amazing students.

Careers

Academic and Language Communication Skills (ALACS)

The ALACS team offer a wide range of in-depth, practice-based courses on academic skills, including writing successful assignments and dissertations, criticality, academic integrity, understanding feedback, effective presentation and discussion skills, and courses to develop important language skills - all delivered by experienced and qualified tutors.
